Daughters of Zion

Arizona Daughters of Zion (DOZ) - United in praying for our children!

Daughters of Zion DOZ - Arizona Daughters of Zion

“Children are an heritage of the Lord”
Psalm 127:3

A burdened heart...arising in the night...crying out to God...uplifted hands...flowing tears...desperation. This is the picture in Lamentations 2. It is the “daughters of Zion,” the church, pleading with God for their young children swooning (dying), fainting because of hunger (both spiritual and natural) in the street (Lamentations 2:11)

The Daughters of Zion

Daughters of Zion is made up of women worldwide, who meet on the first Monday of each month to pray focused prayer for the children of the local church community.

The Mission

We are committed to the spiritual preservation of this generation and beyond and the spiritual restoration of previous generations.

The Need

Committed women who will join together on the first Monday of each month and pray focused prayer for their children and the children of the local church and community.

Three Priorities of Prayer

1. The salvation of our children

(Isaiah 49:25: Psalm 144:12; Isaiah 43:5-6)

2. That they take ownership of the faith at an accountable age

(1 John 2:25-28; James 1:25)

3. That they enter into the ministry of the Lord's harvest

(Matthew 9:38)

Daughters of Zion Ideas

1. Make a prayer calendar with a different name for each day. Concentrate on special prayer for that particular child on their day. Send them notes of encouragement or a prayer certificate.

2. Make a laminated Bible marker with each child's name on them. Have a different color for each age group. (infant, elementary, junior and senior high, adult) Trade markers for a month to pray for different children.

The singles ladies of our church attend Daughters of Zion prayer meetings even though they have no children of their own to pray for. Instead, they have formed a focus group to pray for the children and young people in our church who have no moms to pray for them. Some come from homes in which there is no mom present; others may be the only one in their family to attend church. Whatever the reason, it is important that these young people have prayer covering too, and our single ladies give that.

We had a very special meeting this past April, honoring our 7th year. We had 21 in attendance. Refreshments were served; each one gave a praise report for answered prayer's over the past seven years. As we entered the sanctuary for prayer, we each lit a candle from a unity candle, uniting in prayer for our children and grandchildren. We really appreciate Daughters of Zion prayer meeting's. It has been a real blessing to our church.

Design a special prayer request card to be used by children and youth. Use these to pray for their special needs at your Daughters of Zion prayer meetings.

Every few months have a “ Prayer Ride”. Have a group of ladies drive to the various schools and have prayer in the school parking lot.

We are excited about Daughter’s of Zion. Our church has experienced many blessings and miracles from binding together in prayer and fasting. Through this valuable ministry we have drawn together as a church in focused prayer and many in our community are responding. Since our first published Prayer List, we have been able to add 10 families to the list. Within the last few months, 6 backsliders have prayed through, 10 souls have been baptized in Jesus Name and 7 have received the gift of the Holy Ghost! What a limitless God we serve!

My son, Jason, was in a serious accident a week ago. Another car going at a high rate of speed, pulled in front of him, causing Jason to hit his brakes and lose control. His car headed towards an embankment, going through a fence, a creek, and hit a tree. A fence post went through the window, just missing his head by 2 inches. Jason walked away front this wreckage, with only a sprained wrist! I know it was the prayers of the "Daughters of Zion" that put "Angels" around him, keeping him safe. I am thanking God that He came on the scene!

Three years ago my son backslid and turned to alcohol and a gothic lifestyle. He started dressing all in black, dyed his hair and eyebrows black, and would paint his fingernails black. He was really getting heavy into gothic. He was also drinking all the time. Then in August of 2004, God got a hold of my son and delivered him from all that. I thank the Lord that he saved him.

After our first "official" Daughters of Zion prayer, immediate results were evident. One lady's daughter, husband, and child attended service the very next Sunday. While speaking with her she said, "I woke up this morning and just wanted to go to church today." They have been attending Sunday services since.

We've already been in months of prayer focused on our children and youth and have seen a dramatic change in them! They have been renewed in the Holy Ghost and are excited about living for God! It's been wonderful to be a part in seeing the change!
