Picture a weathered rancher, standing tall against the sun. He hoists his britches and clears his throat, taking his time before he speaks. - “Well, it was like this. I pulled myself up by my own boot straps!” - Self-sufficient, determined, and focused, we all have a tendency to be like the old Texan. “I did it my way” are the lyrics of a popular song. “I stand on my own two feet” and “cover all the ground I stand on.”

Is your self esteem as a woman low?
Why is it that our ‘stay at home moms’ are lead to feel inadequate if they aren’t out actively working at a professional job in the world? Many people look at these women as if they have ‘no clue’ what real life is all about. These moms have more of a clue than the women out on the work force –have more challenges –more responsibilities –more education oftentimes, because of their position as mother and wife! Mother I am here today to inform you that you are one valuable person and ‘absolutely no one can take your place’!

When I was a child I thought that phrase from the Bible ‘I am that I am’ sounded so funny. I thought perhaps it was improper English or at the very least something had been lost in the translation.

As a woman in today’s modern world I am certain that you have questions as to what your strengths and abilities should be as a Christian who loves and serves God. I want you to know that God has a plan for everyone He places on this earth and the plan is the same for all –to fulfill the gospel by sharing the truth of the word of God with others so that they are able to find the abundant life we have found.

We never know what a moment can bring. God, through Daughter’s of Zion has been a rock for the protection of my children. Although my husband and I have prayed for our children before the inception of DOZ, the focused prayer has been powerful and we have seen many miracles!

I began my sophomore year with four classes. I had Honors English, Geometry, Intro to Theatre, and Honors World Geography/ History. The first month of school, those classes were already a challenge, but most of all my geometry class.

| Priorities |

Our culture is so fast-paced and egocentric that relationships are left behind including a real relationship with the Lord. Many people who claim to be, “ready to go to Heaven when Jesus comes,” have not told anyone about Jesus in years, never read their Bible and never stop to pray.

| Miracle Collector |

A few months ago, our family had the distinct honor and privilege of "moving." It quickly became apparent however, that "honor and privilege" were gross overstatements in reference to moving. Upon finding myself amidst boxes, newspaper and packing tape, I discovered that we are collectors of a sort. I haunt the local antique shops on a weekly basis looking for that choice knick-knack, and then, there are shoes, oh yes, shoes.

There seems to be three kinds of Christians. First, there is the Christian that can only serve God when everything is going great in their life. No major battles to fight and all is going well. The Lord is blessing them and they are loving it. But the first dark trial with fiery darts from the enemy and they are ready to pack it in. They can’t serve God . . .it’s just too hard!

She was a pretty little girl of about five years of age. How exciting! Dressed in her finest clothes she was going to Sunday school for the first time in her life that she could remember.
